Homan Realty was started by my father George (Bud)
Homan in 1973. He had been a successful businessman
in Albany for several years prior to then. When he
started the business his goals were to make a
priority of being fair, professional and honest in
all dealings no matter the size of the transaction.
He became very successful by being true to his
goals.
In 1988, I was looking to change direction in my
employment. My dad offered me the chance to come to
work for him as an agent in hopes of taking over the
business in a few years. I worked and learned from
him until 1990 when he decided to enjoy the more
relaxed atmosphere of retirement. I received my
broker’s license and took over the business in July
of 1990.
Since that time, I have learned that his original
goals of being fair, professional and honest should
be mine as well and have tried to maintain those
standards throughout my career as a Real Estate
Broker. I am a 26 year member of the St. Joseph
Regional Association of REALTORS® and have held my
status as a REALTOR® knowing that it comes with an
obligation of holding a higher grade of standards
and professionalism.
I am a native of Albany and have enjoyed making this
my home. I married my wife, Melinda, shortly after
graduating from MIZZOU in 1978. We have raised two
children, Kelly & Ben, who are now grown and off on
their own. I can’t think of a better place to live
and have a family.
I am experienced in marketing farms, residential and
commercial properties and feel my years of
experience are very important in today’s Real Estate
atmosphere. My pledge to all clients and customers
is to treat any transaction with professionalism and
honesty, the way it started in the beginning.
